Herb Williams is an artist whose interest lies in identifying objects that society perceives to associate with one role and reintroduces them into different subtexts. With the project “ Unwanted Visitor: Portrait of a Wildfire”, Williams created five freestanding sculptures using thousands of individual crayons. Each of the sculptures range in height from three feet to eight feet and will eventually change in shape due to their wax content melting in certain weather conditions.
