Constructed entirely out of Ice with no supporting substructure, these Ice Castles by artist Brent Christensen are incredible examples of what the majority of public art is, Ephemeral. With the help of 20 or so crew members, Christensen builds these structures by forming self-made icicles that require millions of gallons of water. Some reach a height of 25 feet and contain stairs, archways, tunnels, and can be illuminated at night with multi-colored LED lights.
