2 new Kofie murals in Sante Fe, New MexicoStreet Art // Tuesday, 21 Aug 2012
Two new Kofie pieces were recently painted in Sante Fe, New Mexico for The Hour Has Arrived event. With the intent to promote, recognize and preserve the craft of the Indians, the press realease explains, “There has been a lack of focus and attention on new mediums employed by Native artists, some of whom are at the forefront of the Public Art Movement.” Other artists participating in this event included El Mac (Phoenix), Ernesto Yerena (Phoenix), Hoka Skenandore (Oneida/Oglala Lakota/Luiseno), Jaque Fragua (Jemez Pueblo), Rose B. Simpson (Santa Clara Pueblo), Watermelon7 (Isleta Pueblo), Yatika Starr Fields (Cherokee/Creek/Osage), & SABA (Four Corners). More photos from other artists work soon.
