Victoria Sambunaris is a landscape photographer, in a very classical sense. She plans her entire year around journeys taken across America, with her large format camera. She produces very contemplative, still images which depict the intersection of nature, industry, and geology. Sambunaris portrays the beauty of the landscape and our relationship to it, a large freight train amongst salt flats, a snaking road in a barren desert, and mining sites are some of the photographs that help the viewer to understand what the modern American landscape is.
