Nanako Koyama is known for creating ethereal, delicate portraits. Utilizing natural light with a benevolent meticulousness reminiscent of Uta Barth, Koyama portrays a variety of subjects—homes, houses, loved ones, and models—in a way that feels nothing short of a love poem. Born in Ishikawa, Japan, the artist earned her degree in Fine Art Photography at the Nihon University College of Art, and currently resides in Tokyo, where she lives and works as a freelance photographer. As indicated by her prolific portfolio, Koyama shoots everything from fashion editorials to intimate portraits of abandoned architecture.
