Two-time recipient of Guggenheim Fellowships and a New York State Council for the Arts Fellowship, Thomas Roma documenting local scenes from  churches, subways and everyday life in Brooklyn, using a homemade camera. He currently is a professor at Columbia University School for the Arts, and the Director of the Photography Department in which he founded. His work has been show internationally and included in collections at The Museum of Modern Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The Art Institute of Chicago, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montreal. Tomorrow he’s giving a lecture at Pratt in Brooklyn for their photography lecture series and it’s open to the public.
