In light of her recent film debut, Palo Alto, Gia Coppola (granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola) is a hot topic. Before film became her creative focus, Coppola studied photography with the famous Stephen Shore, at Bard College. The subjects in her portraits parallel the upper-middle class characters in her film. From hip-fashion photography to candid shots of famous actors, Coppola depicts an airy sense of youth that is both awkward and elegant.
