The exhibition "Only The Good Ones: The Snapshot Aesthetic Revisited" is currently on display at the Galerie Rudolfinum in the Czech Republic and the roster of photographers is impressive. This exhibition intends to tell the history of the snapshot aesthetic as a story of the provocative intimacy of a diary, the poetry of everyday life and the fast and catchy undercurrent of the street, periodically revitalizing rigid artistic and commercial practice with the primitive force of an unpremeditated gesture. The exhibition is on display through May 4, 2014.
The exhibition presents more than 200 works by artists including Nobuyoshi Araki, Tim Barber, Richard Billingham, Mike Brodie, Larry Clark, Barbara Crane, Bill Dane , Corinne Day, William Eggleston , JH Engström, Walker Evans , Lee Friedlande , Luigi Ghirri , Nan Goldin , Jacob Holdt, Jerry Hsu, William Christenberry, William Klein, Jacques- Henri Lartigue , Ari Marcopoulos, Ryan McGinley, Joel Meyerowitz , Slava Mogutin, Daido Moriyama , Mark Morrisroe, Ed Panar, Tod Papageorge, Walter Pfeiffer, Jack Pierso , Stephen Shore , Dash Snow, Joel Sternfeld, Gus Van Sant, Jürgen Teller, Andy Warhol, Henry Wessel and Garry Winogrand.
