Karlheinz Weinberger “Portraits, 1959-1987” @ Macorone Gallery, New York

Photography // Thursday, 20 Feb 2014

Karlheinz Weinberger was a Swiss photographer known as the pioneer of male erotic imagery and recognized for his decades-long documentation of stylish rebel youth culture. Portraits, 1959-1987 is a new exhibition at Maccarone Gallery in New York, showcasing the artist's extensive body of portraiture work. This exhibition encapsulates vintage prints dating from 1959 through the early 1980's, many unseen by the public until now, offering Weinberger's lifelong subjects in styles ranging from the iconic Halbstarke glam shots, to nudes, to close-ups of faces and one-of-a-kind jacket backs. The exhibition is highly recommened and will be on view through March 29, 2014.
