Alex S. Maclean's aerial photographsPhotography // Wednesday, 28 May 2014
While most photographers take to the streets to find their subjects, Alex S. Maclean heads for the sky. Using a Cessna 182 carbon fiber airplane, Maclean, a licensed pilot, explores the world from above documenting the varying landscapes, architecture and creatures below. Initially trained as an architect, the photographers interest in aerial photography developed through his study and understanding of community and commercial planning from an architectural stand point. He has created several large bodies of work that have been published in a number of books and shown internationally. Spend some time on his website, there’s plenty to consume.
