Alessandro Barbucci began his comic career at the age of 18. The early part of his career consisted of creating nearly 1200 pages for Disney Editions. During 1997-1998 Barbucci shared his skills on teaching comic technique at the Accademia Disney in Milan. In 1997 Barbucci and Barbara Canepa, in collaboration with best-seller novelist Elisabetta Gnone, created a new magazine called W.I.T.C.H. The award-winning publication, with over 50 millions copies sold in more than 100 countries, is ranked number four in worldwide magazine sales. The duo was also the artistic look behind the popular children's comic series MONSTER ALLERGY, wich was originally published by Soleil in France and Egmont in Germany. The series is adapted in a two-season animated series produced by Rainbow, Futurikon and disney Channel and later picked up by Warner Bros. making it the first european animated series that the company has purchased. Barbucci and Canepa are currently working on the popular series SKY DOLL, published by Soleil in France and Marvel in the USA.
