A new book of self-portraits by renowned Dutch artist Viviane Sassen collects photographs made between 1989 and 1999.
In October Viviane Sassen will open her exhibition at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie MEP in Paris bringing together more than 200 works and retracing 30 years of creation, Viviane Sassen – Mirrors & Portals offers an immersion in her photographic work, which mobilizes intense colors, graphic games on light and shadow and surrealist aesthetics. The exhibition will bring together the artist’s iconic series – including “Umbra”, “Parasomnia”, “Flamboya” and “Roxanne” – and a selection of her fashion photographs, as well as her mixed media works combining photographic prints, paintings, collages, and videos.
