With a new installation as part of BEYOND THE STREETS Shanghai, today we look at Los Angeles-based and Philippines-born,  Kristofferson San Pablo for today's A Portfolio

Kristofferson San Pablo is an artist and teacher with a firm belief in the value of igniting creativity through art history and pop culture, with a focus on mysterious imagery and iconography, especially that which is regarded by academia as being “lowbrow.” He has a special fondness for Kilroy and the infamous “S” symbol, which was a gateway into graffiti for him as a 5th grader. Playfully exploring themes of identity and social issues, San Pablo’s work is multidisciplinary and embraces technological advancements, without which his nude-selfie series would be made difficult. San Pablo believes in the importance of acknowledging and understanding the past as it informs who we are. He was born in the Philippines and now lives in Los Angeles.
