We went to Joshua Liner Gallery to check out the opening reception of New York based artist David Ellis. Hudson River Alley presents a diverse body of works in paper, sculptures and mixed-media that definitively have the aroma of his new studio in Woodstock, NY.
David’s individual works on tobacco-stained paper capture the visions of an almost magical nature. Iconic images are reinvented trough Ellis’s colorful style to tell differently a common story. This story is displayed as a whole in a massive wall mosaic created exclusively for this exhibition.
The artist’s musical background reflects on the two kinetic sound sculptures that spontaneously create analogue sequences in rhythm. His remarkable reflection on traditional Americana and his vast artistic production make this mind-blowing exhibition a must. The show will be open until October 19th, 2013.
