On Saturday, July 29, 2023, The Saguaro Palm Springs and Bloody Gums present Summer Heat, an interactive, multimedia installation inspired by the culture of Southern California. Across various sites at the hotel’s colorful property, the playful, full-day event will specially feature artists from the region that don’t often see representation in the mainstream, including those from working class families, children of immigrants, and other artists who draw inspiration from their cultural environments while blending influences from pop culture. These artists predominantly range from across Southern California, especially San Bernardino County, Riverside County, the San Gabriel Valley, and north and south LA county.

With experiential production chops in galleries, and for brands and conventions in New York, Miami, and Los Angeles, Bloody Gums has become known for its distinctive ability to bringing authentic, contemporary Southern California culture to new audiences in inventive formats. The event is curated by Andrew Barsoum, the unofficial creative director of Bloody Gums since 2016. Under Barsoum’s direction, the Bloody Gums collective has grown to a group of diverse artists across all mediums working together to build a universe that continues to grow and change along with its members and their experiences.

The experiential art show and night market will feature a broad range of artists, including installations by Coachella Valley locals Carlos Ramirez and Lazaro Sanchez and Riverside-based artist Martin Sanchez of Tios Tacos
