Steve Turner is pleased to present No Running By The Pool, a solo exhibition featuring drawings from the last seven years by Los Angeles-based and Juxtapoz favorite, Robert Pokorny. According to the artist, “drawing is at the root of my practice, where ideas are born, tested and refined. When drawing, I work freely, without inhibition, allowing the mark making to dictate where the drawing wants to go. The outcome is determined by the process and I know that I am on the right path when all my thoughts fade away.”
The works in No Running By The Pool include still lives and portraits that contain Pokorny’s idiosyncratic humor and his ongoing conversation with art history.
