Russian illustrator Vladimir Shorokhova describes how he became involved with illustrating the female nude: "One day I came across a book by Omar Khayyam 'Rubaiyat', I only remember the illustrations. They seemed so effortless, drawn as if by chance and I distinctly remember the unusual style. Now I just paint what I feel... sometimes, the lines are drawn easily, as if the image is born of itself. Sometimes I fight on a single line for over an hour.' Vladimir creates beautifully minimal illustrations of the female form.
