My name is Alex Vieira, I am an art student of UFES (Federal University Of Espirito Santo - Brazil), 22 years old and juxtapoz subscriber. I started to work with art doing posters and album arts for punk bands.

more gig posters: http://www.gigposters.com/designer/69435_Alex_Or_Die!.html

more collages: http://www.flickr.com/photos/smart_alex/sets/72157594327740516/

My mostly important artist influences are the early dada/surreal stuff like Kurt Schwitters and Max Ernst; the punk art like Winston Smith, Tim Kerr, Pettibon and Gary Panter; Brazilian illustrators like Rubem Grillo, Luis Trimano, Leonilson and Zimbres, ; Multimedia Artists like Paulo Bruscky, Leon Ferrari and Fluxus Group. I love comics, animation, music and animation too.

Projects:
- Prego Magazine: comics, punk art and psychedelism - A comic/illustration independent magazine, since june 2007, including intervies and artworks of the Prego Collective, formed by Brazilian artists like Jaca, Mario Alencar, Chico Felix and Filipe Borba. We released 3 issues and some parallel publications like Ataque Fotocopia e Gente Feia na TV #1. Unfortunately the magazine is in portuguese, but you can also see something at: http://revistaprego.blogspot.com

Band:
- Morto Pela Escola: skate punk band - www.myspace.com/mortopelaescolaa

I will do my first solo exhibition on January 2010 at Homero Massena's Gallery, called Lote 64 and it iss about my work using photocopy machines. Last year I won an auction about a lot of broken photocopy machines at the scrap deposit of my university, and my exhibition is about the artwork that I have done with it. This show includes big collages/paintings wood panels, the machines, many photocopies and books (like a new encyclopedia).

books:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I also did some others photocopy experiments like the Flipbook Medicina Alternativa.

Hey, really like your work some nice images. It would be really cool to see big, on a wall or something.

Thanks Richard. It´s a good Idea and I always think about it.

The biggest things that I have made are these panels like the fourth photo and some street collages like the last photo.

I want to try to make a wall collage using rests of outdoors.

I really like the way that Judith Supine do his work, but what I want to make is different, using letters, words and numbers mixed with the images.
