Art Lives Studio & White Lotus Home presents "Piti Piti Plein Kay" at Lotus Studios Gallery. The title was named by exhibiting artist, Turgo Bastien, and is a Haitian expression, which means that even a tiny light can fill an entire house.

Featuring a diverse and engaging array of small works of art produced sustainably, this exhibit takes a look at how a small, thoughtful impulse, like a seed, can hold great meaning and potential to transform while sharing with viewers and collectors a snapshot of the artists' Caribbean heritage.

This event is a part of Art Lives Studio’s Haiti Relief Benefit program and will support Art Creation Foundation for Children (ACFFC), a wonderful non-profit arts organization created for education and personal growth of children (6 - 11 years) in need in Jacmel, Haiti. Recently a friend of mine asked if I could help him get a small series of drawings together. This has blown up in my face a number of times, mostly during collaborations (i.e.: Critique Mag) but I offered a challenge of sorts. Every Monday we will choose a theme and expect a final sketch the following Sunday.

I think this would be a cool opportunity to share, critique and inspire others. Whether yr a hobbyist, student or professional I think this is a great way for all us artist (this means YOU) to swap and encourage others.

The first weeks theme is: SEX. All submissions must be Original Works done with Pencil and/or Charcoal on paper and signed. NO Photoshop.

If you guys & gals like this idea I will open a Flickr group for everyone to share their works and critique.

"Pin Up Originals" is based on the initial photographs used to create the illustrations for "Pin Up Players". Only 20 of each print will be made available during the release party for the project.
