Monarch is latest series of oil paintings by Portland artist David Stein.

David Stein’s Monarch is an exploration of the surrealist technique decalcomania juxtaposed with the Rorschach inkblot test. Stein, a self-taught artist, produces work that delves into the realm of fantasy in compelling detail.  The precision of Stein’s imagination is realized and beautifully executed in the 10 works, hung side by side with the inkblots, of Monarch.
