Jacob O. Rolfe is a visual artist living in Melbourne who’s practice is often associated with a dark humour and intense metaphor. The images offer the viewer a critical analysis of self and society, through a kaleidoscope of symbols and personal mythology. Meanwhile, animal, human & machine cooperate throughout the pieces to depict important scenarios in reference to moments from the past and present. Being both small and large scale, the work attempts to offer an essence of truth and fragility amongst eccentric fantasy.
