Playing with Perspective: Allan D'Arcangelo

Born in 1930 in Buffalo, New York, Allan D'Arcangelo was an American artist and print maker. He is best known for his paintings of highways and road signs. Allan transformed something which spoke to him within the mundane day to day experience into something bold, graphic and fun for the eyes. Allan played with perspective, experimenting with the way these street signs look as we zoom past them, challenging himself to convey motion two dimensionally.
