Mark Nystrom's Winds ProcessIllustration // Monday, 01 Jul 2013
Mark Nystrom is an artist, designer, and interpreter of natural processes with a unique visual language created through the use of data, science, and nature as his raw materials. His intricate work delves into the often inaccessible world of minute data points, translating complex streams of analytic information into expressive and colorful drawings, installations, projections, and screen-based projects. In his "Winds Process" series, Nystrom uses various means, such as suspending a pen outfitted with sails over paper, to record the wind conditions of a single day and capture the subtle shifts of air currents in a tangible and engaging image.
