Leilani Bustamante's carved works are most interesting because they tell a story. Her wood-carved nesting dolls illustrate themes of mortality which is something she often explores. Leilani spent time growing up in rural Fort Bragg developing her interest in osteological motifs and the natural beauty found in decay. She is a graduate of the Academy of Art University and currently lives and works in New York City. Take a look at her other works including paintings and drawings, here.
