Painted Laser-Cut Panels from Redd WalitzkiIllustration // Monday, 23 Jun 2014
Seattle based artist Redd Walitzki begins with watercolor "sketches" of her future creations. The final product is made with multiple layers of oil glazes atop laser cut wooden panels. The shapes created by laser cuts provide a unique, built in frame adding to each piece. Redd often favors a luminous springtime color palate which compliments her fairy-tale subjects, and completes her works with delicate painted pearls.
