San Diego-based artist Kelsey Brookes' raw, vibrant, mixed-media assemblages represent microcosms of life at large, where smiley-faced characters and wilde animals cavort with abstract forms and splices of color to form something infinitely complex and visually joyful. Brookes recently opened a new show, "Meditations on Symmetry," in Malibu, CA.
