Katie Jones-Barlow: A Useless ManualIllustration // Monday, 21 Apr 2014
Currently working in London, Katie Jones-Barlow's work has a focus in creating a harmonious relationship between text and image. She says she is inspired by responding to literature by using found materials and objects. Katie searches for materials that have a previously handled aesthetic, that contains a past narrative, which she can adapt into a new context. These pieces come from a series entitled "A Useless Manual" which give directions for things like "How to Wave Goodbye", "How to Detach" and "How to Dream About People."
