In Illustration: Alex Lukas at Guerrero Gallery

Illustration // Wednesday, 21 Sep 2011

What is left when the world falls apart? Ask Alex Lukas. Stepping into his visual world is stepping into the wake of a major disaster. Images of tunnels, cities, and buildings seem eerily familiar, and yet totally abandoned. We see New York City submerged under water in incredible detail, as he paints over screen printed images of the city. Lukas plunges us into this post apocalyptic world with his huge cycloramic work, creating a 360 degree view where we find both hope and despair amidst the grime, grit, and rubble.

Lukas's work will be on display at Guerrero Gallery in San Francisco through October 8th
