Fiona Strickland's Incredible Watercolor WorkIllustration // Wednesday, 11 Sep 2013
Fiona Strickland's watercolor work has breathtaking clarity, vibrancy and intensity of color. studied drawing and painting at the Edinburgh College of Art before spending the next 26 years teaching art and design at Scottish secondary schools. Her studio on the outskirts of Falkirk is full of dead things--a vase of dried-out tulips, fragile leaves pinned to walls and lots of lifeless stalks and stems. She renders these objects by layering transparent watercolors with tiny brushes on heavyweight paper.
