Artist Emanuela Harris-Sintamarian was born in Bucharest, Romania, and currently lives in the SF Bay area. Elements of her visual lexicon are borrowed directly or paraphrased from several disparate arenas, including Eastern European folklore, architecture, and topography. Collectively, these references create complex and fractured allegorical "maps" of the artist's physical, emotional, and intellectual journey as an immigrant in the US.
