Color fusions by Michael J Bowman

Illustration // Friday, 22 Mar 2013

Describing himself as an "outsider artist", Michael J Bowman paints and draws with inspiration from 1970's album covers and from his dad's old collection of Renaissance books. Being dragged around the art museums and churches of Europe when he was a child, then moving back to America at the age of ten, definitely impacted Michael's life and style of artwork. "I was plunked back into an American suburb, where I ran around the fast-food strip and the mall. This collision of the Louvre and Spencer's Gifts is what set me on my specific artistic trajectory. My pictures are a hybrid fusion (mish-mash) of images that I've been exposed to which are regurgitated via visions from my mind."
