Andrew Archer's Asian-Inspired IllustrationsIllustration // Tuesday, 08 Jul 2014
Andrew Archer is a New Zealand born illustrator currently living in Melbourne, Australia. He uses a healthy mix of traditional and digital techniques to create slopped-up, vibrant, beautifully kinetic illustrations that simply drip with narrative power. Archer is inspired by surrealism and sublime narratives, especially wood block prints, edo period art, ideograms, characterization, travel and Asia. Archer didn't study art when he was younger, but he did eat crayons, which might have had something to do with his off-beat color palettes.
