amytimms_thumbbig UK-based artist Amy Timms' paintings aim to convey the essence and souls of the animals that they represent. Working primarily in bold, flat gouache, the interplay between color and negative space is key. Timms draws upon multiple themes of death, decay, rebirth, melancholia, and metamorphosis, and she takes inspiration from the science of anatomy, entomology, folklore, taxidermy, and the indigenous flora and fauna of the British Isles.
