In 2001, artist and filmmaker, Matt McCormick created a film connecting graffiti removal with characteristics of abstract expressionism, minimalism and Russian constructivism. Implying that “buffing” was created by artists who are unconscious of their artistic achievements and deserving of a place in the history of modern art.
