Muted Beauties by Rossella Manisi

Erotica // Tuesday, 14 May 2013

Rossella Manisi's photos have a quiet, delicate demeanor, presenting the young female body as if photographing a flower. These portraits are sweeter and more sensitive than the word "erotica" may capture, addressing the question of the nude with the hand of an artist rather than provocateur. Caught in muted pastels, Manisi's models look like girls made of marble or cotton, occasionally breaking out of their florals and dappled lights in a moment of innocent rebellion.
