Zen Gardens in the Air: Work by Shinichi Maruyama

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, 21 Jun 2011

This is an interesting series by Japanese artist, Shinichi Maruyama. In attempt to represent the feeling he gets when looking at Zen gardens in his art, the artist commits to a practice of throwing paint in the air and capturing the resulting sculptural formations from the random event. The series is a testament to serenity, and the practice of achieving personal enlightenment, Shinichi notes.
