YZ is a French artist of all mediums: from studio art to video, music to street pieces, YZ injects specific meaning into each project in which she embarks. YZ shares some images of her most recent wheatepaste in Paris for the series, Back to the Roots.

“The new project is a return to origins, a quest for identity guided by emotion, curiosity and sensitivity, but above all by themselves, Guadeloupe, and particularly the people of the Sainte-Rose.

“With them and through them the values of Guadeloupe are reflected - miscegenation, heritage, history, the wounds of slavery and the current situation of the island, plagued by economic and social uncertainty.”
