What to do with your old Juxtapoz Magazines, by Eric YoJuxtapoz // Friday, 03 Dec 2010
We just got this email about what Eric Yo does with his old Juxtapoz'. We don't endorse everyone taking their old Jux' and cutting them up (keep them on your coffee table for continual reading and sharing, please), but IF YOU WERE to do something, be creative. Try custom gift bows from old magazines.
Magazines (preferably w/ full page ads or pictures)
Scotch Tape (or glue dots)
Patience (good things and better bows come to those that wait)
Cut a magazine page lengthwise into 9 strips, 3/4" wide.
Leave 4 of the strips full length.
Cut one inch off 3 of the strips.
Cut two inches off 2 of the strips.
Twist each strip to form a loop at both ends and tape in the center.
Shape the 4th long strip will be the center secure it with tape or a glue dot.
Layer the 3 remaining full length pieces on top of each other, spacing them evenly and securing them. Repeat for the smaller pieces.
Finally, stick the loop into the center.
Try experimenting with the order and positioning of the strips (see tattoo bow)
or find and use images related to the gift it is being used on.
