Washington, DC-based artist Linn Meyers' work relies on both a calculated approach to composition and the organic evolution of each artwork to create organic, fluid drawings that unfold as her hand drawn lines undulate and vibrate across the larger compositional forms.
Her color palette for this show was influenced by the unusual phenomenon of LA's sky with its atypical hues and hazy forms that are a strangely beautiful results of the area's prevailing film of smog. Meyers began creating these drawings on paper, but has moved on to doing site-specific works like this exhibition at the Hammer. This is her first museum show in Los Angeles. Watch theĀ video discussing the work with Meyers during install.
