Back in September 2013 in our print edition, we did a cover story with Los Angeles-based fine artist and designer Geoff McFetridge. His fine art paintings, a combination of powerful, simple concepts done in flat, beautiful colors had intrigued us for years, and because our last conversation with the artist was prior to this painting series, our Editor-in Chief, Evan Pricco, went to LA to discuss the new works. Here is the the September 2013 cover story...

Julie Nord has had solid showings at V1 Gallery in Copenhagen, and this 2013's show was no exception. Around the time her show, "The Children," opened at V1, we published this interview with the Danish artist in the August 2013 print edition of Juxtapoz. And keeping with the Best of 2013 theme, this was one of our favorite features from the year that was...

The Best of 2013 print edition takes us this Christmas morning to the works of Ben Jones, an artist who has blended a bit of digital art, comics, fine art, installation and animation into one of our favorite art careers going today. Having shown at Deitch Projects, done officially projects with The Simpsons, shown at Transmission LA at MOCA, and done work with Adult Swim, we were lucky to catch Jones at such a pivotal and busy point in his career.

Another look into the archives of our print edition in 2013 brings us to one of our favorite issues of the year, the June 2013 Beastie Boys issue. We covered the history behind the iconic album covers and artwork that help create the visual identity of the band, and one of the most unlikely but profound covers was 1994's Ill Communication shot by Magnum photographer, Bruce Davidson. Shot years before, the ADRock loved Davidson's work, and chose this image of the man speaking into the intercom... the rest is in Davidson's words.

All month, we have been going back to our archvies from both the web and our print edition, finding some of our favorite posts and articles from 2013. Today we look back at an article in our print edition from May 2013, where we featured the amazing surreal paintings of Italian artist, Fulvio di Piazza. For the piece, we had fellow Italian painter Nicola Verlato get inside the head of Mr di Piazza, and because of it, the article gets... well, a little heady...

For the past few days, we have been looking back at our print archives to see some of our favorite features from 2013, and today we show you the piece we did on NYC-based Erik Parker in April 2013. At the time the piece came out, Parker just opened a show at Pace Prints in NYC, and one of our favorite shows of 2012, "Bye, Bye Babylon" at Paul Kasmin Gallery in NYC. We caught Parker at a creative, prolific moment...

For the next few weeks, we will be publishing some of our favorite features from the print edition that appeared throughout 2013. Today, we look at the March 2013 feature with California fine artist Caitlin Hackett, whose work depicts a thick north coast foliage, mysteriously surreal animals, and mythical connection between people and nature.

For the rest of the month, we are looking back on some of our favorite features from our print edition. Today, we look at the February 2013 cover story with James Jean. At the time, James Jean retired, then didn’t really retire at all. In a similar vein of Michael Jordan, who retired from one phase of his career only to return stronger and more well-equipped to dominate once again, Jean left the illustration world behind in 2008, redefining himself as one of the most talented and intriguing fine artists of his generation...

We had many highlights this year, from Matthew Barney, Ralph Steadman, ADRock, David Choe in Afghanistan, Tom Waits, David Copperfield, and Alex Prager, and today we look at our January 2013 feature with photographer, surrealist, and alternate-universe creator in Asger Carlsen.
