These Bagels Are GnarlyJuxtapoz // Monday, 22 Jan 2007
Remember that kid in the back of 5th period English with the notebook full of heavy metal logos and book covers plastered with all manner of skulls, wolves and cars? Well, someone gave all of those homeroom heroes a showing at the Cinders Gallery in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
The intimate show space at Cinders led to a room plastered with common 8 1/2 by 11 copy paper with un-common artwork thrust upon them. Each artist was given a pen (some better than others as the artists explained while wandering the gallery), a sheet of paper and let loose. Tasked with using the everyday ballpoint pen all of the artists seemed to gravitate back to that satisfying time before it all became so serious.

There are some great pics of the event on the gallery's website as well www.cindersgallery.com.
