The Works of Hiro KurataJuxtapoz // Thursday, 27 Sep 2012
Born in Osaka, Japan, Hiro Kurata has continued to craft an intricate story that ties together both Eastern and Western culture. Focusing on surrealistic moments, he illustrates his daily life through sports motif, chairs, and the stability of gentleness. However, the underlying theme of his work is both chaotic and restless. Kurata sums things up best: “Calm days make me sleep and wild days are too chaotic. Wake up and sleep, to sooth and then again derail”. Creation is a progress and he believes that the true creation will contribute to the human society in an evolutionary way.
