The New Taubman Museum of ArtJuxtapoz // Tuesday, 16 Dec 2008
It’s not everyday that a stunning new museum opens, but the heart of downtown Roanoke, Virginia now has an 81,000 square foot Taubman Museum of Art.
Designed by architect Randall Stout, the visually arresting landmark provides an analog for the city's evolution from industrial and manufacturing town to technology-driven city.
Juxtapoz curator Greg Escalante got some exclusive photos of the space from Museum Director David Brown, who told us “Gary Panter, Joshua White, and Allan and Ellen Wexler will all be here in January to work on their respective parts for the art learning lab. Gary's input will be a gigantic four-wall wall drawing/painting.”
Make sure to hit up taubmanmuseum.org to see more outside views of this spectacular building, but first check out the other shots of the inside of the Museum below.
