From the site of Goni Montes, an illustrator we really admire, "I was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, got a BA from the UPR at Mayagüez, and an MFA from SCAD Atlanta. I began working as a scientific illustrator for the Puerto Rico Sea Grant. Now I mostly do editorial illustrations with some fantasy here and there. I live in Decatur, Georgia with my wife Jen who’s an illustrator for Archer."
