The Bookyard: An Outdoor Public Library by Massimo BartoliniJuxtapoz // Saturday, 02 Jun 2012
We love public art in any form, especially when it completely changes the landscape (for the better). We love bookstores and libraries, too, and to see this fantastic project, an outdoor public library called The Bookyard, just combines all the things we like. Massimo Bartolini, we say wonderful work. The public installation, made for the Belgian Art Festival, sits next to rows of grapevines. As DesignRulz notes, "All books are for sale and the visitors may bring home a piece of the artwork by leaving a donation of their choosing into a small box supplied by the artist and the libraries."
