The Art of Elisa Malo in Mexico City

Juxtapoz // Thursday, 23 Dec 2010

Veracruz, México born Elisa Malo is currently showing at FIFTY24MX Gallery in Mexico City, and we just received a bunch of images of how the installation and show looks. We think Malo has a good sense of humor, both by the work and her explanation of inspirations: "She's mostly inspired by bizarre characters, kids with bad teeth, albinos, and zombies."

The show, Secret Spells, os inspired by the characters that live in the mind of a young wiccan girl. In this “dysfunctional” series (as she calls it) Malo shows her latest paintings, drawings and sculptures with a color palette that mixes pastel colors and black, resulting in images that are both sinister and have a odd "charming" nature to them.
