$50,000 worth of art stolen from Montreal gallery

A recently opened gallery in Montreal (as recent as June) fell victim to a tactile art heist that is estimated to be worth up to $50,000 in losses. Sometime between November 2nd and November 4th, Station 16 was broken into where thieves took a number of painting, prints and computers. They believe the robbery to be planned as particular works were chosen off the wall by artists such as Labrona, Kevin Ledo, Scaner, Zek One, Whatisadamand Antoine Tavaglione. Fortunately, the works were insured and artists will be compensated, although they are still hoping for the recovery of the stolen art.

Vhils x Pixel Pancho

Invited by Underdogs, Italy-based artist, Pixel Pancho, has been creating a number of murals around Lisbon, Portugal and teamed up with well-known local chisel smith, Vhils, for a collaborative wall. Despite the two artists having obverse styles and mediums, working together on a wall deem very successful. An android/hybrid character can be seen holding a boat on this wall located right next to the Tagus River.

Bonnaroo is a 4-day, massive music and arts festival that takes place on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tennessee every year and we are hoping to make this year. The lineup is extensive with just about every band ever playing. We aren’t sure if this is for the upcoming year or last year, but Okuda uploaded photos of this stunning piece titled “Metamorphosys of a star” which is included as part of the festival.

AEC of Interesni Kazki paints new mural in Las Vegas

Interesni Kazki has been touring the U.S. over the last few weeks leaving a trail of top-notch murals in their wake. AEC who makes up half of the artist collective has wrapped up a mural in Las Vegas for the Rise Above Festival. The image of giant cowboy hat wearing character with a slot machine for a chest takes center stage, with several hands reaching out from the desert landscape.

Phlegm in Lexington, Kentucky

While you would expect to see a mural from a European artist such as Phlegm in U.S. cities like New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and so on, when you see the name Lexington, Kentucky it comes as surprise. And that’s where the Sheffield-based artist most recently painted on an old Bourbon distillery (a suitable canvas based on the states reputation for whisky). Phlegm painted a collection of his signature characters stacked like Jenga and at the top two characters are toasting over a feast at a table. Painted for PRHBTN.

His painterly pieces are rich in sensibility and expression, and have a ceratin captivating attribute. His newest paintings are in the streets of Shoreditch, London, where he completed two beautiful new pieces underneath a pair of bridges.

2 new walls by Escif in Ordes, Spain

With his newest pieces, Spanish muralist, Escif, paints two very different scenes to contemplate. The first is the image of a man with a camera around his neck being mauled by a tiger. This piece is entitled “Comunistas!!” In the second, there is long black box where the front of a horse appears on one side and the back pokes out the other. The piece is entitled “Paso de caballos.” 

Interesni Kazki paint entire building in Miami

In just a few weeks, the streets of Wynwood in Miami will be flooded with people, mostly artists, and a whole lot of spray paint fumes. Every year during Art Basel this industrial section of Miami hosts a sizeable amount of walls to artists of all kinds, the majority being street artists and graffiti writers. The Ukrainian duo, Interesni Kazki , already got a jump start before all the chaos (probably a smart move) and painted an entire building with their highly imaginative imagery. Check out some of these detail photos because there is a lot of detail!
