Ericailcane paints Museo De Arte Contemporáneo in Colombia

Lately, an unusual amount of artists have been heading down to paint walls in the once extra dangerous city of Bogota, Colombia. Italian artist, Ericailcane, recently painted the exterior of the oddly shaped Museo De Art Contemporáneo.

With the help of the local Limerick city council and youth worker Catherine O'Halloran, street artist, Maser, started his new year off by transforming an abandoned gasoline station into a new space of visual vibrancy. Introducing itself last week, The “Draw Out - Urban Exhibitionists Project” hopes to use the most creative resources to reinvent spaces left unused both visually and functionally. Maser spoke on the project saying he “‘creates work that surprises people and questions their relationship with the familiar and the norm, also how dissociated we are from the space around us” Also included were two cars that were completely painted and the gasloine station will be lit up at night creating a differnet overall effect.

Located in the southern region of India, Fort Kochi is where Aryz has painted his “last piece of 2013.” The Spanish artist mentions this was a “Fast one,” painting one of distinct looking characters holding an axe. 

Jesse Hazelip's "Love Lock: Cycle of Violence" @ Jonathan Levine Gallery

In preparation for his first solo exhibition in New York entitled “”Love Lock: Cycle of Violence,” Jesse Hazelip boldy acquired three tattoos on his eyebrows and the back of his forearms and head. Each of these tattoos corresponds with his exhibition that will explore themes of injustices within our legal system and underlying corruption in the prison industrial complex. For the opening reception, Hazelip will be occupying a replicated site-specific jail cell made of plexiglass that will be built to the size of a solitary confinement unit (six by nine feet).
