Sculptural Works by Al FarrowJuxtapoz // Tuesday, 06 Oct 2009
Farrow’s work has been in shows at the Oakland Art Gallery, the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery, Falkirk Cultural Center in Marin, the San Francisco Art Institute, and the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, among many others; and his work is in many various public and private collections around the world, including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the di Rosa Preserve in Napa, and others in New York, Germany, Italy, and Hong Kong.
What makes Farrow’s work so striking is its ability to bridge the old with the new. Utilizing age-old materials such as bronze to cast sculptures is no easy task, but Farrow is able to infuse each piece of work with energy and relevance in choice of subject matter and attention to detail.
