Scribble: A pen that replicates any color in the real worldJuxtapoz // Thursday, 12 Jun 2014
"Scribble is a company that wants to bring the convenience of digital colors to the physical world with a new pen that can sample, and reproduce, any color you might encounter in your daily life. The pen can mix various inks to produce as many as 16 million different colors, 100,000 of which you can store on the 1GB of built-in memory. You can even import these colors to your computer or smartphone so you have easy access to them should you decide to use them for your next project.
The Scribble Pen recognizes colors using a 16-bit RGB color sensor, which it then recreates with a mixture of cyan, magenta, yellow, white or black ink. It’s powered on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and should the ink run out, you can buy refillable cartridges. The company also plans to release a Scribble Stylus, which is the same except for the fact it features a rubber tip. Even though the idea has been solidified, the pen hasn’t gone into production just yet. Scribble will be launching a Kickstarter campaign in the near future to put together the funds for its first batch. When that happens, they plan to sell the Ink Pen for $149.95, while the Stylus will be available for $79.95."
